Forrest Evans (Media Specialist)

Ms. Forrest Evans is a military brat and considers Blackshear, Georgia home – a gem hidden by the Okefenokee Swamps of the southeast. The oldest child and only daughter of her loving parents, her mother’s love of comic books sparked Ms. Evans’s love of reading. A published poet and passionate reader, Ms. Evans greatly enjoys working with children.

“We have to talk about liberating minds as well as liberating society,” a quote from Angela Davis, is her mantra.

Ms. Evans believes that one of the greatest environments to explore the world around you, is the library. Whether organizing colorful displays about history, exploring topics and the glory of God, Ms. Evans enjoys being a resource to parents and a mentor for students.

With a definite love and a passion for information, Ms. Evans began her career at a historically black university, Fort Valley State University. Ms. Evans earned her Bachelor of Art in English Literature at FVSU in December 2014 and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science, from the University of Alabama, in 2016.

When Ms. Evans is not exploring in the library, she is finishing her favorite comic book series, hiking or collecting art!
