Kerry-Ann Nelson

Ms. Nelson is originally from Spanish Town, Jamaica. Her college career began at Bethune Cookman University where she later transferred to Clark Atlanta University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Nelson is a certified teacher who has taught 1st through 3rd grade. This school year will be her 5th year teaching.

Ms. Nelson’s passion for teaching came after witnessing the impact one of her high school teachers had on not only her but also her schoolmates. She is a hands-on and data-driven teacher, who enjoys using manipulatives and technology to engage her students in learning activities. Ms. Nelson believes that all children can learn and that it is her responsibility to find out how they learn best and adjust her teaching to their learning styles.

Ms. Nelson enjoys traveling and going to the beach every chance she gets. In her spare time, she enjoys making crafts and being with her family, especially with her daughter, Raegan.

She is excited to be a part of The Academy of Scholars family and looks forward to the upcoming school year.
