In-Person Transition Communication

Dear Parent,

You will be receiving communication from your scholar’s assigned teacher for the second semester on Friday, January 15th.  All scholars will join their assigned teacher on Microsoft Teams from 9:00 am – 2:15 pm during the week of January 19th – 22nd.

Before joining in-person instruction, all parents must sign the “Conditions for In-Person Learning” form.  This form outlines AOS’s expectations for in-person instruction protocols. Parents must agree to these conditions via electronic form.  The deadline to submit the form is Tuesday, January 19th.  If the form is not submitted by that date, your scholar will not be allowed to attend until after the first day of in-person school.

Conditions for In-Person Learning Form

In-person instruction will be staggered beginning on Monday, January 25th to insure a safe and smooth transition.  When we are not in-person, scholars will continue virtual instruction on Microsoft Teams for this week.  This schedule is ONLY for the week of January 25th – January 29th.

Pre-K and Kindergarten:

  • In-person: Wednesday and Thursday

  • Virtual- Monday and Tuesday

1st – 3rd Grade: 

  • In-person: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

  • Virtual:  Monday

4th – 6th Grade: 

  • In-person: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Friday, January 29th – Mid-Year Conferences

  • Scholars will not be in school. You will receive a Zoom invite from your scholar’s assigned teacher for mid-year conferences.



Scholars must be in full uniform when returning to in-person classes.  They must wear the AOS zippered polo, Land’s End uniform bottom with AOS logo, AOS socks, and black shoes or AOS tennis shoes, (no black tennis shoes).   If you experience delivery delays with the Land’s End khaki bottoms, your scholar may wear similar khakis in color and style until your order arrives.   Notify Dr. Johnson via email if this occurs.  Please use the following link for more information regarding the school uniform and to purchase the Land’s End uniform bottoms.

Carpool Safety Protocols

Scholars are to be dropped off and picked up only during the assigned time designated for their grade level.  The times for drop-off are: 7:30 – 8:00 Pre-k/Kindergarten,  8:00 – 8:30 1st – 3rd, 8:30 – 9:00 4th – 6th.  The times for pick-up are 2:30 – 3:00 Pre-k/Kindergarten, 3:00 – 3:30 1st – 3rd, 3:30 – 4:00 4th – 6th. For drop-off, parents may utilize carpool drop-off or park and walk their child to the curb only. Siblings will be dropped off at the earliest drop-off time and be picked up at the latest pick-up time.  There will be no parent access to the building.  Scholars will have their temperatures checked prior to entry into the building.  Any scholar who has a temperature above 99 degrees will not be allowed entry. Wearing a mask is mandatory for all scholars and staff entering the building.   


Scholar Materials

  • All scholars must bring their Chromebook to school each day. The Chromebook must be charged overnight to ensure that it is ready to be used for class instruction. Scholars must also bring headphones to use with their Chromebook during class instruction. 

  • Scholars may bring a personal sized hand sanitizer for their own use, not to be shared, within the classroom. All scholars and staff will follow hand washing protocols at all other times.

  • Scholars must bring a water bottle to refill and keep on their desk throughout the day.
