Lacresia Estes (Kindergarten)

Mrs. Lacresia “Shelley” Estes was born in Maryland. She is a Georgia certified teacher who has been teaching for six years. She is married with two children, is a Christian and loves her job as a teacher. When someone would ask her as a child what she wanted to do when she grew up, she would respond by saying, “I want to help people.” She believes that there is no greater calling than shaping the minds of young students. She also believes that having academic success is important, but building moral character is just as important. Her goal is to help mold and shape well-rounded students.

Mrs. Estes found her passion for teaching later in life. She obtained her undergraduate degree in business management at Georgia State University. She holds an Early Childhood degree from Piedmont College. She is currently seeking a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. For the past three years, Mrs. Estes challenged herself to work with English learners. Many of her students arrived the first day of school without knowledge of any English. She continues to be a positive influence in her students’ lives and encourages their creativity and growth.

In her spare time, Mrs. Estes travels to experience different cultures. She enjoys carpentry work and building anything made of wood. She is excited about sharing her time, talents and skills with her students at The Academy of Scholars.
