Rolanda Grant (5th/6th Grade Math and Science)

Rolanda Grant is elated to be a part of The Academy of Scholars family. She is a passionate educator who believes education is the key to success for all students. As an educator she hopes to motivate students in asserting their inner strengths and abilities to discover what truly inspires them. She has always been drawn to the art of teaching and learning and believes that when it’s created in its purest and most effective form, encapsulates a quote by John F. Kennedy: “The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.”

Professionally, she has been an educator for over 20 years. An avid lifelong learner, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Morris Brown College, a Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University. All these experiences have enriched her life and validated her belief that education is not only about the past and present, but it’s also the key to the future.

Family is everything to Mrs. Grant, as they work, play, and pray together. She is blessed to be married to her husband, a PK (preacher’s kid) for 22 years. They have 5 fabulous children and a beautiful, bubbly grandson. When she’s not working, Mrs. Grant enjoys serving in several ministries at her church, volunteering, reading, painting and roller skating.
