Tiashima Moore

Ms. Moore is originally from the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, where she was born and raised. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in African American Studies. During college she was involved in various organizations promoting diversity on campus and within the community. She has been working with youth of various ages since 2010 when she began working for Kids Incorporated, where she worked until 2012. She relocated home and began working for Williams Christian Daycare, where she served in various capacities. In 2015, she moved to Champaign, Illinois where she officially began her career in traditional education at Thomas Paine Elementary as a Paraprofessional in the Life Skills classroom. She joined the team at Canaan Academy for the 2016/2017 school year where she taught the 2nd and 3rd grade. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Moore’s pride and joy is her three-year-old daughter, who she enjoys spending time with. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Ms. Moore believes that all scholars are capable of exceeding expectations with the strength of the Lord.
