An enthusiastic leader of students, parents, colleagues, and future educators, Benny Crane, Jr. comes to The Academy of Scholars with 20 years of educational experience. He holds a master’s degree in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College and a master’s in Teacher Education from the University of Phoenix. He completed his undergraduate studies at East Carolina University. He is currently working towards a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Before his tenure at AOS, he served as the Middle School Dean of Students for Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek and as a middle school dean at The Lovett School in Atlanta. He has also served as Lead Mentor Teacher/Director of Teacher-Intern Training for Breakthrough Atlanta.
Benny is also a certified trainer of Habitudes®, where he trains educators, students, and parents across Georgia to develop effective leadership and self-management habits and attitudes.
He has assisted in creating a comprehensive disciplinary program that helps develop students academically, socially, and emotionally.
Benny has conducted professional development workshops for teachers throughout Georgia in single-sex instructional strategies and has been a workshop leader for the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) annual conference.
