Mrs. Herd’s life’s work is empowering students to be lifelong learners, future leaders, and world changers. She believes that all children should know they are valued and important and is dedicated to helping them achieve their fullest potential. Mrs. Herd strives to understand each child’s educational, social, and developmental needs. As a teacher and a former educational consultant and instructional coach, she is driven to ensure that all students receive research-based instruction that is tailored to their needs.
Mrs. Herd is passionate about sharing her love of teaching and believes in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from Penn State University and a Master of Education degree in Special Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Herd was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She enjoys traveling, concerts, sporting events, and activities that allow her to spend more time with her friends and family. Mrs. Herd is also an avid-distance runner and a former coach, who appreciates challenging herself whenever possible.
